  • New song using Midi Guitar software

Posted by Jesse Lewis on at 7:30 am

Hey MP fam! Wanted to share a new song and video with you here. I had mentioned in a previous post about a software I got called “Midi Guitar 2” and wanted to share a taste of what I’ve been using it for. It converts guitar into midi in real time with very low latency without any external midi hardware so you can essentially use your guitar as a midi controller. In this song I routed the guitar to trigger a synth on pigments and sent my clean tone to a separate track so I could balance them together live. The direct guitar and midi notes get recorded directly into my DAW and then I mixed in the audio from my iphone for the “live space”. Fun! (ps – I think they might make a software specifically for bass too…)

    Jesse,

Once again, you present us with an aquatic audio treasure without the need to get our feet wet or fly the skull and crossbones of an actual pirate’s life. I almost always enjoy the calm and inviting space you craft for your listeners. You’re kinda like the outdoor Bob Villa.

You’ve taken us into nature, up in the mountains, deep into a cave, and along a surprisingly crunchy path in the fall woods. Each journey is its own unique delight, except for that one entitled “Whistler.” It’s not my general disdain of whistlers as much as the close-up of the frozen snot on your mustache. I have limits ya know, but I do encourage MP readers to have a stroll though your ATTICUS offerings and find their own fave.

The MIDI adventure has such potential! I can’t help but wonder what the rowboat series might sound like with a layer from either the Octopi’s Garden, Bikini Bottom, or anywhere Under the Sea for that matter.

      Hey Paul!

Hahaha “The outdoor Bob Villa”!!! I love that! I just might change that to be my new handle here on MP haha

I shall work hard to get you on the whistling train, I’ve noticed your recent crusade against it, and I’m determined to win you over. 😂

But seriously – I always appreciate your support, your ears, and your next level writing!

The boat is waiting whenever your ready! I’m seeing a whistle duet on the water in your future…

      Best,

      Jesse

LOLOL – @-PT and @JLEW you are both CRACKING me up! 😂

Jesse, I love this as usual – your audio-visual adventures are magical and pure and inspired, and of them I shall never be tired. Bad dad-poetry aside tho, for real I mean it! And when I commented on this Youtube the other day (before you posted here) I had been wondering, “did he overdub the synth?”. MIDI guitar eh …..? More please!! 👏 How cool!
