    Dear MP Family!

I just downloaded a free plugin that I am finding to be very cool and helpful and I just figured I’d share here in case anybody else wants to get it. Many of you may already know about this, but I just learned about it for the first time. It’s called Voxango Span and it is essentially a spectrum analyzer which has all kinds of great meters on it, but the one page that I find really fascinating can be found under the presets, and it essentially allows you to monitor your mid frequencies while ALSO simultaneously viewing your side frequencies to make sure that you don’t have any side frequencies that are getting out of control, and maybe causing some problems with your mix. I’ve never seen a visual aid like this and find it to be very cool! Dana, are you hip to this plug-in?

Lots of tutorials on YouTube about how to use it!

Anyways – here’s a link if anybody’s interested in downloading it. I downloaded it yesterday without any problems – Jesse

Jesse, yes. I’ve had this one in the lineup for a good long while. It’s free, and if you use a fractional octave setting you’re comfortable with…useful. The Slope editor function is the Devil.

Super cool, @jlew, thanks so much for sharing this! And FREE, no less! I don’t know about this one and will check it out. Great to have @detective‘s (partially) ringing endorsement, too!

PS – are you using this in addition to your new snazzy TC Electronic Clarity M meter? 🤓💜

Yes sir! It’s very cool! I’m not aware of another plug-in that simultaneously shows you the frequency response of your sides in conjunction with your mids, so you can really see how they look side-by-side. I’m sure something like that exists, but I found it to be pretty cool….. and you can’t beat free!!!

Loving the clarity M so much! Even just for tracking stuff I finding it so handy to have that information on its own screen like that!

Can’t wait to hang with everybody on Friday on the zoom!!

      Love,

      JLew
